Join us for an authentic cultural and whale watching adventure through the Salish Sea to the historic First Nation village site of Aupe. Your journey aboard custom landing craft vessels with inside AND outside seating provides unobstructed views of whales (Qʷ̓ənɛs), eagles (Q̓aykʷ) and much more. Step off the boat onto shore and immerse yourself in the rich history of the Xwémalhkwu (Homalco) on an enlightening walk around the former village.

Throughout the ocean voyage you will be watching for some of the most majestic sea animals in the world including orcas, humpbacks, dolphins and sea lions. At Aupe lucky visitors may even see the resident black bear (Mɛxaɬ), while your Homalco guide shares traditional stories, language and legends. You’ll get hands-on with cedar bark (Taχəmay) while learning to weave your own cedar bracelet.

This immersive experience is perfect for curious adventurers wanting to learn about the Indigenous peoples of Canada’s West coast while whale watching and enjoying stunning coastal scenery. It’s family-friendly for ages 8+ and packed full of information and fun!
